The damage assessments account for 15 people dead and more than 350,000 people affected, 2,500 homes destroyed, 65,000 homes affected, and damage to more than 90,000 hectares of various crops. The objective of the project is to ensure that 5,008 families, from 5 provinces in 5 dioceses of the northern part of the Dominican Republic receive essential needs in the areas of food security, shelter, health, water, sanitation, livelihoods and are able to strengthen their capacities for reconstruction and advocacy.
