It is also linked to CAFOD’s CSP and humanitarian strategy in the region which is to provide support to partners to assess emergency situations, prepare for and strengthen their capacity to respond to them through contingency planning as well as train partners and their operational communities on risk assessment, vulnerability analysis and monitoring and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies. Through this project,CAFOD seeks to prevent further spread of the Ebola virus by raising mass sensitization and awareness of identification, treatment and preventative hygiene practices, as well as providing kits to the most vulnerable areas to assist in good hygiene practice. Caritas Guinea has recently been at the forefront of managing emergency projects, including food, hygiene, health and medical services; and the care of displaced persons and refugees affected by decades of civil wars in the neighbouring countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast. </narrative></description><participating-org type="21" role="1" ref="GB-CHC-285776" activity-id="GB-CHC-285776-SLN159"><narrative>Catholic Agency For Overseas Development (CAFOD)</narrative></participating-org><participating-org type="23" role="4" activity-id="GB-CHC-285776-SLN159"><narrative>Organisation Catholique pour la Promotion Humaine/Caritas Guinée</narrative></participating-org><other-identifier type="A1" ref="SLN159" /><activity-status code="3" /><activity-date type="2" iso-date="2014-05-01" /><activity-date type="3" iso-date="2014-08-31" /><contact-info><organisation><narrative>CAFOD</narrative></organisation><email>cafod@cafod.org.uk</email></contact-info><recipient-country code="GN" /><sector vocabulary="1" code="12220" percentage="10" /><sector vocabulary="1" code="13040" percentage="30" /><sector vocabulary="1" code="14030" percentage="60" /><policy-marker code="2" significance="2" /><default-flow-type code="30" /><default-finance-type code="110" /><default-aid-type code="C01" /><default-tied-status code="5" /><budget type="1" status="1"><period-start iso-date="2014-04-01" /><period-end iso-date="2015-03-31" /><value currency="GBP" value-date="2014-05-01">24600.0000</value></budget><transaction ref="45725"><transaction-type code="1" /><transaction-date iso-date="2014-05-13" /><value value-date="2014-05-13">24600.0000</value><provider-org provider-activity-id="GB-1-202669-SLN159"><narrative>CAFOD General Funds</narrative></provider-org></transaction><transaction ref="59727"><transaction-type code="3" /><transaction-date iso-date="2014-05-15" /><value value-date="2014-05-13">24600.0000</value><receiver-org><narrative>Organisation Catholique pour la Promotion Humaine/Caritas Guinée</narrative></receiver-org></transaction></iati-activity></iati-activities>
